IN THE GREEN

You've heard "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." God wants us to live "IN the green" - not looking over the fence to what might appear to be greener, happier, more satisfying, better in some way. Look for moments of being "in the green."

I am a lover of so many things!  Jesus, foremost and first, always. I also love being a mother to four amazing sons and a beloved niece/daughter, a wife of 40 years to a God-loving man, mother-in-law to four(!) precious daughters-in-law, Lala to five adorable little ones and to be constantly pursuing something new and interesting. I was blessed to be able to be a stay-at-home mom. I spent many years volunteering at our kids' schools and our church. When our oldest, John, started the college process, I became so intrigued that I got a college counseling certificate, online, from UCLA and became an educational consultant. I did that for about 10 years. Then, about nine years ago, I decided to pursue a lifelong desire to pursue nursing. My goal was to become a Registered Nurse before I turned 60 which happened (!) with 3 months to spare :)  I also love to knit, needlepoint and quilt.  Reading is a passion as well - my 6 besties and I have been meeting every month to discuss a book for almost 26 years!  My Book Club is composed of the ladies I share everything with ("with whom" I know) - my joys and sadnesses, my craziness, my schemes, my coming and going. We show up at the hospital for each other, provide dinners when needed, and arrive on doorsteps just to be there. Our kids grew up together and our husbands know not to say a word against anything having to do with "book club."  I have a lot of other besties too - friends and family mean everything to me.  I have an awesome sister and brother and great brothers and sisters-in-law too.  So, that is me, in a nutshell.

IN THE GREEN

I am a lover of Jesus, connecting with others, learning new things, kids of all ages and so much more.  A mother of four sons and a half-way adopted niece, a wife of 35-years, a recent RN grad, I struggle to define myself because it is always changing. My hope is that" In the Green" will encourage and support women by being a forum for an interchange of advice, thoughts and concerns,  with sunshine and humor liberally sprinkled around.
